Season 2020 got off to a fine start on Sunday 15th March with rolls and square sausage and bacon courtesy of our resident Michelin-starred chefs. The weather was predictably foul: far too windy and cold. A few brave hardy (read:mad) souls ventured out in boats, while others set up their tackle, blethered for hours and when the world was finally set to rights, half-heartedly tried to cast from the bank, just determined to wet their lines after a long close season. Others preferred to restrict themselves to light-hearted banter, mostly at the Committee’s expense.
Everyone had a rare time albeit only one fish was caught all day. The first fish, an elusive over-wintered Rainbow, was caught by Jamie Scullion.
Here’s to a cracking 2020 season
