I was reminded that our President, Jim, was not the only club member to win their first cap for Scotland this year. Rising star Jake Humes also was awarded his first cap for Scotland at the 35th Youth International held at the Lake of Menteith on 31 July 2019. Not only did he win his first cap, but took home a silver medal into the bargain too as Scotland came in a creditable second after a very strong Ireland team. Jake caught two fish for a total of 2 lbs 13.9 oz, contributing to the overall team total of 64 fish for 152 lbs. Winners Ireland, meanwhile, romped home with 77 fish for 177 lbs. The club is obviously very proud of all our junior members and their achievements, but especially proud of Jake’s this year. Long may it continue.
